Module 1: Early Life (5 assignments)

Week 1

MEMORY: Where and when were you born? Be specific with dates and places. What stories did your parents tell about the circumstances of your birth and/or the name they gave you?

PHOTO: Digitally scan or save and label a photo of you as a baby or toddler. Be sure to label with complete names, dates, and location. Scan and save your birth certificate.

 

Week 2

MEMORY: Tell about your childhood home(s) and hometown(s). What did you like or not like?  Recall and describe a scene that took place inside your home, using descriptive language about the room, its layout and feeling.

PHOTO: Digitally scan or save and label a photo of a childhood home and/or a photo of you as a young child with one or both parents. Be sure to label with complete names, dates, and location.

 

Week 3

MEMORY: Write about how your family spent time together when you were young. How did you spend weekends? What was your favorite game or activity as a child? Did your family attend church together? What church? What other activities did you do together?

PHOTO: Digitally scan or save and label a photo of your family when you were young—you with your parents and siblings. Be sure to label with complete names, dates, and location.

 

Week 4

MEMORY: Write about work and play in your family. What were your responsibilities or chores?  Did you work together or alone? What skills did you learn at home? If you misbehaved, what were the consequences?

PHOTO: Digitally scan or save and label a photo of you and/or family members during your childhood. Look for ones that show familiar or favorite activities. Be sure to label with complete names, dates, and location.

 

Week 5

MEMORY: Did your family experience tragedy or hardships while you were young? Write your recollections and feelings of that time.

PHOTO: Digitally scan or save and label a photo from your childhood that has meaning for you.  Label with complete names, dates, and location, then write its story.

 


Congratulations! One month complete, and you’ve captured some key memories from your early childhood. Carry on to leave a legacy of lasting value!
